The minister of education, Przemysław Czarnek, was protested on Tuesday by students during his visit to a primary school in Mysłakowice (Lower Silesia). “HiT to sh * it” – chanted teenagers who brought on banners critical slogans about the new subject, as well as the attitude of a politician.

Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek hosted on Tuesday at a primary school in Mysłakowice near Jelenia Góra (Lower Silesia), where together with the Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski presented the assumptions of the health education project for students in grades 1-3 of primary schools.

The politician’s visit was protested by some students who shouted slogans such as “HiT to sh * t”, “education, not manipulation” or “school for people, not for politics” in front of the school building. On banners held by teenagers, we read: “Czarnek, report unpreparedness”, “students and fish have a voice” and “Czarnek does not have an essy” (essa is a slang term for something positive – ed.). There were also rainbow flags – symbols of the environment LGBT+.

– We are trying to show that we are against what he has been doing since 2015 PIS against LGBT people. How he harasses them, demonizes them and tries to convince them of mental illness – one of the protesting students told a TVN24 reporter. He stressed that the new object, the so-called “HiT”, had – in his opinion – nothing to do with history or with an objective presentation of facts.

Minister Przemysław Czarnek did not like the reaction of some young people to his visit. – If you could record how the rainbow youth behaves, and how normal youth behaves, we would be grateful – the minister asked the TVN24 reporter, pointing first to the protesters and then to the students gathered in front of the school building.

The youth protest was not related to the topic of the press conference organized by the bosses in Mysłakowice in Lower Silesia health ministries and education. On Tuesday, Adam Niedzielski and Przemysław Czarnek presented the assumptions of the health education project for students in grades 1-3 of primary schools.

As emphasized by the Minister of Health, classes on healthy eating will most likely be conducted during childcare hours. – We took advantage of the offer of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and launched the “Junior Edu-Nutrition” program (“JEŻ” for short) together with the National Institute of Public Health, for PLN 20 million. (…). This is a research and educational program that will allow teachers all over Poland to use professional educational materials on healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. These will be materials prepared by scientists – emphasized Czarnek.

– The most important, from my point of view, is that children will learn from an early age what it means to live healthy, and on the other hand, that health becomes our common value, a common good – Niedzielski noted.
