‘Every day we live our lives in fear’ under Taliban rule

Despite their promises the current Taliban regime is worse than the one in power in the 1990s, an Afghan women’s rights activist has told the BBC.

Women in the country are living in fear and are shocked that they are not allowed to go to work or get an education, Tooba Ataei told Yalda Hakim from BBC World News.

The Taliban took power in Afghanistan in August 2021.
