The 50th anniversary of the coronation of Margaret II was thus celebrated modestly, out of respect for the British monarch. The palace reported that the decision was made at the personal request of the Queen of Denmark.

As a result, street parties and a folklore festival, which were scheduled for Saturday, were canceled. Originally, the Queen was to appear on the balcony of Amalienborg Palace with her family members, and then travel in a ceremonial convoy through the center of Copenhagen.

Today it is supported by as many as 80 percent of citizens.
